setting the tone

Hi. It’s been a while. 8 months in fact! I’ve been busy having one of the best summers of my life (seems like a very distant memory now), having several ‘what do I actually want to do with my life?!’ crises and starting university! In many ways my life has changed dramatically yet in many ways I’m still here, still Jodie, still blogging.

I’ve wanted to open up the laptop and type out a blog post many times in the last few months but stopped myself in fear it’d be a fad and I’d write one blog post screaming ‘woooooo! I’m back’ only to not write another in months. Finding a little nook on the internet which I could call mine never seemed like much fuss – it certainly didn’t when I started back in 2013 where I described my ‘style icons’ every Monday evening. But as I grew up, my blog needed to as well and suddenly I fussed about what I was writing about much more. I was running round like a headless chicken looking for myself in the midst of fashion and style blogger saturation. Am I doing this because this is me? Am I doing this because I’ve seen it on instagram? Sometimes it’s hard to work out the lines.

But I’ve come to a point where I’m ready to write and share again. Properly this time. My main focus is to work towards presenting my textiles work alongside styling and ‘thought’ pieces on here. An amalgamation of all my loves and thoughts. The little pieces that make me.

Here’s to the next chapter. I hope you like what’s coming up.
