I kept one eye on the Met Gala 2015 (…distractions everywhere!) and saw a couple of truly stunning outfits so I thought I’d go back to 2013-esque ‘madfashionlover’ and tell you my thoughts about a couple of my favourite outfits. This year the theme of the Met Gala was ‘China: through the looking glass’ and it certainly led to some weird and wonderful outfits!
Rihanna looks absolutely, totally and utterly gorgeous. I can’t express just how much I love this cloak look, and the makeup, head piece and jewellery just make it so stunning. The rich yellow colour along with the scale of the cloak really did ensure she stood out! The garment and headpiece are from Chinese couture designer Guo Pei and apparently took one woman a whole 2 YEARS to make. Wow, the dedication.
New face of Calvin Klein, Kendall Jenner, also stunned on the red carpet in a Calvin Klein collection dress which I think is extremely beautiful, if, albeit revealing.
I just love Jennifer Lawerence – I mean lets face it, she could turn up in a bin bag and still look chic. Her more played down outfit was a nice contrast to Rihanna, Kim K and Beyonce’s crazy garments. She looks beautiful and classic without showing every inch of her body. The floral Dior cut out dress is something I would love to wear!
Alicia Keys rocked it in Jean Paul Gaultier adding an edge to the red carpet. It’s so classically Jean Paul Gaultier and I particularly liked the use of the more feminine skirt contrasted with the angular shapes of the jacket, with the bustier peeping through.
Ahhh Beyonce. It’s taken me a while to decide what I actually think of her dress. Obviously I like it more than Kim K’s very similar dress but both are extremely risque….and is that really necessary? I mean, don’t get me wrong, I think Beyonce totally killed it, but honestly, what’s she going to do next? Walk down the red carpet naked next to Kim K (with both trying to out pose each other, obvs).
Hope you enjoyed my little opinon on the Met Ball 2015. I would love to hear what you think! Who dressed best?
