Two years ago today I typed out my very first blog post in the hopes of expanding my own writing abilities as well as opening up my voice online. So it’s kind of crazy to think what started off on a bit of a whim, a small laptop, a head filled with ideas and a bit of spare time, has turned into something I am passionate about and continue to do (albeit spuradicly) to this day.
There’s so many things I want to do to explore writing styles and challenge myself – it’s all too easy to get stuck in your comfort zone. But I’m also not deluded and realise there are other things in my life that I should be concentrating on, often making the balance between hobbies, school, work and relaxation quite hard.
I don’t often say I’m proud of myself, but my blog is truly something which I’ve grown and developed myself. I was always starting ideas and projects but nothing seemed to stick. So I’m glad this has stuck! What I love most is looking back at my posts, cringing, loving them, fighting the urge to delete them and everything in between. I hope I can keep up with my blog throughout lifes twists and turns, using it as my own little open diary, commenting on the outside but also letting the outside world look in at me.
I would honestly encourage anyone and everyone to start a blog based on their own interests and hobbies. Whether you post to a wide audience or to your few anonymous viewers, writing down your thoughts and opinions then pressing the ‘publish’ button is extremely satisfying and rewarding.
thanks for reading and supporting, it means a lot
