Earlier this week I posted an instagram photo of the outfit in this blog post. I thought I’d share my inspiration and where I actually got the clothes from here! I absolutely LOVE wearing bold colours so teaming these statement orange pieces together was an obvious choice for me. I kept the rest of the look simple with some black tights, black high top converse and tied my hair in a ‘half up, half down’ style.
Funnily enough both key pieces are hand-me-downs. The skirt was dug out from the back of my mum’s wardrobe a few months ago and lives on from my mum’s twenties! Similarly I’m wearing my grandma’s jumper here and I’m totally digging it. By pairing these pieces together the outfit reflects (at least to me…) quite a 1960’s mod fashion vibe. You feeling it?
Don’t be scared to try out some of your mum’s/dad’s/grandparents clothes – fashion goes round in circles and most the things in there will probably be in at the moment! Finding key, unusual pieces are great – they catch people’s eye and can jazz up a plainer wardrobe!
