If you’ve seen my latest youtube video (here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VR4nmPH-XaU&list=UUZwGT-TnTa1aU44IN52Tufg) then you’d be aware that I recently made a few purchases, including the ‘flawless finish’ collection from The Body Shop. I’m no expert on make-up but I thought I’d give my honest opinion about my experiences using the products.
As you can see, the collection contains the ‘instablur’ and the ‘all-in-one bb cream’ – both relatively new products to The Body Shop’s growing make-up lines. Seperately the products are sold for £12 and £14 but on a ‘new product’ offer they’re being sold for £20 (…how could I say no?). For those who don’t know, the ‘instablur’ is a primer used underneath foundation/bb cream etc to smooth the skin and hold make-up on the face for longer. BB cream, is essentially a tinted moisturiser aimed to colour correct the skin.
Being a novice to primers I didn’t really know what to expect – other than seeing them used in videos on youtube I had absolutely no clue. From what I can tell this is a good one – the make-up is left securely on your face and it certainly doesn’t add any weight to your make-up, no need to worry about looking ‘cakey’. I can’t really comment on it in terms of longevity as I rarely wear a full face of make-up for longer than a few hours anyway, but this certainly doesn’t feel like it will budge anytime soon.
The BB cream is a real winner for me, and unlike the primer, I have actually tried out a few bb creams, none of which have worked as well and looked as natural as this one. The all-in-one bb cream is colour adapting meaning when it comes out the tube it is white but as you apply it to your face it turns the same colour as your skin. Magic. This means that your shade matches perfectly and your left looking ‘fresh faced’ instead of like you’ve got a layer of liquid coating your features. Even with the colour adapting abilities you do still choose a shade ranging from 00 to 03. I went for 03, I’d be interested to know the variety each shade does – will this work on a range of skin tones?
Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase and will definitely be repurchasing both products when I run out. If you’re new to make-up or just looking for a lighter base then I’d recommend you giving these a go too!
