Excited for Autumn| jumpers, jeans + boots

Although I do REALLY love summer, I’m never too sad to be going into Autumn. For me, Autumn is my favourite time of the year. That’s probably a lot to do with the fact that October is my birthday month and is also filled with numerous friend’s birthday’s so there always seems to be something to do and things to celebrate. Autumn is also filled with colder weather, meaning that thick jumpers, coats and scarves can start to come out and make an appearance. Below I’m going to write about all the things I look forward to in Autumn to make all you summer loving lot feel a little more excited for the season ahead.

1. DARK LIPS

I’ve heard a lot of people talking about loving Autumn because they can then bring out their darker lip products and berry shades; I agree completely (although if I’m honest I’ve been wearing them quite a lot in summer too! aha). I’m not a coral or nude lip girl so Autumn is when I wear lip products the most as I can go back to the trusty Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick in 107.

2. LAYERING
Autumn layering is fashion heaven. Layering jackets, scarves and shirts with unique pieces from your wardrobe not only makes you feel extremely cosy but also looks pretty damn good. Who knew you could look good AND be comfortable? Hahaha. (no doubt I’ll be doing a post about this soon, hence why there’s no photo here).

3. BOOTS

I have a few pairs of boots in my wardrobe so it’s always a great feeling to bring them back out and have a chance to wear them in a more suitable Autumn environment. During Autumn I practically live in Dr Martens in some variety or another and not only are they really comfortable (once you’ve broken them in that is…) they’re also the ideal boot for rain and snow as they’ll still keep your feet toasty.

4. ACCESSORIES
With Autumn comes a whole heap of accessories to keep you warm. A big scarf is my favourite to add into an outfit to get an extra layer of warmth and it can also make an outfit a bit more quirky with an unusual scarf. Of course there’s also a ton of different style hats you could wear, but I’m really not a hat person… (I love scarves and accessories too much to confine it to a couple of sentences…I’ll be doing a full post shortly).

5. HEARTY MEALS

Autumn is the transition into hearty meals and let’s face it, everyone likes roasts, pies and stews…need I say more?

6. AN EXCUSE TO STAY IN

Blankets, the obligatory stuffed animals and my current book (which by the way you should DEFINITELY read)

I’m no couch potato (…okay…maybe sometimes) but there’s something lovely about staying in when the weather outside is so cold. Watching a movie, listening to music or curling up with a book -however you choose to stay in- it’s extremely satisfying.

7. CHRISTMAS IS NEXT

xmas

This may get you screaming with joy or fill you with dread, but either way Autumn means we’re one step closer to christmas – more food, family time and presents, I’m certainly screaming with joy!

Are you still gutted about waving goodbye to summer or are you like me and looking forward to Autumn?
