So here ends my week of celebration! Are you surprised that I’ve managed to blog every day for the last seven days? I sure am. I thought a good way to end this little series would be writing about my ambitions and the future. I’ve spent the past week looking back at my blog so it’s only right now to look towards the future.
I’ve always been a really ambitious person so it will come as no surprise to the people who know me well that I have numerous hopes for my blog. I thought that it would be a good idea to tell you about some of the things which I want to change and improve about my blog in the future as it always helps me stick to my goals if I’ve told the world about them first! I hope you find something interesting about this post and maybe it’ll inspire you to write down and tell others about your own ambitions…
The first thing I’m really eager to improve about my blog is the photo content. I’ve already -kind of- tried to do this a bit but this year I really want to use WAYYY more of my own photos. I’ve been really bad about using any old photos from google (I know I know, don’t kill me..eeek) but I’m going to make a conscious effort to use my own photos from now on. It’s an ambition of mine to have at least 70% of the photos used on here my own – really it should be 100% but hey, I’m being realistic. I think using my own photos will add more of a personal touch to my blog and will definitely make my posts more interesting to look at!
I have tried as much as possible not to have any goals or ambitions related to the amount of views on my blog. I think it’s really important to write posts because I enjoy writing and not just in the hopes that I’ll get a certain number of views. Don’t get me wrong, I love watching the number of views on a post go up, but I always ask myself – if not one single person read my posts, would I still be be writing them? I think the ’round about’ answer to that would be yes. I wrote before I had my blog and no doubt I’d be writing if it wasn’t doing too well.
I think if I look to the future in a years time I hope to have a slightly more stable posting pattern. Maybe I’ll finally learn the art of scheduling a post in advance? Haha. Next year is certainly not going to get any less hectic – I’m not deluded- but hopefully I’ll be more organised and will be able to post at least once a week (I hope to have a twice a week regular posting pattern come September). The point is, a regular posting pattern is definitely at the top of my agenda and I’ll put all my efforts in trying to fulfill that.
I guess the last thing I should briefly mention is the long term future. I’ve never really touched upon what I want to do in five, even ten years time. In the shortest possible way I’m going to sum up my long term ambitions…
I started this blog off because I really really really wanted to get into the fashion industry. I loved the idea of being a fashion designer or fashion stylist. I still aspire to be in the fashion industry for sure, and looking at the fashion world constantly makes me realise I want to make it big for myself. I don’t want to work as a designer to have my creations walk down the catwalk under somebody else’s brand identity. My dreams revolve entirely around the creative buzz inside my brain, in essence, I want to own my own fashion label. However, writing my own blog has also inspired me in the world of journalism and the media. Writing fashion columns or editing magazines sounds like such an awesome job too – anything involving fashion, creativeness or writing, I probably want to give it a go. So I suppose you could say I want a taste of every pie, and I would say you’re damn right! But then I’m an optimistic person with no barriers around me – I honestly believe I can do anything I put my mind to.
The one thing I’ve chosen not to mention is where I see this blog in the long term – because I honestly have no idea! One thing I know for sure, is that one way or another I hope that you guys will be along with me on whatever crazy journey I go on. How cool would it be if I was still blogging on ‘madfashionlover’ in ten years time?!
I hope that I’ve given you an insight into my ambitions for the future and maybe inspired you to aim high. I’m a true believer that you can do WHATEVER you put your mind to, so don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
