Lush is LUSH – my review of the R&B Hair moisturiser!

Hey there fashion lovers!
Woop woop! Look at me blogging twice in one week, haha. I felt the need to film a vlog about my love for Lush (https://www.lush.co.uk/) because I needed to get it out there! As I filmed a video I thought it was only right to also -finally- include a little review of the R&B hair moisturiser. I hope you enjoy this short, impromptu blog post and I would love to here your thoughts on my first ‘proper’ review.

I was given this product as a tester after the sales woman at Lush noticed my curly hair (I love it when they match a product to a person’s need!). After over 3 weeks of testing this product out I feel I am in the right place to give a helpful (hopefully!) review on this product.

Description of product (according to the website): R&B is made with an extremely rich blend of oils and butters to restore your hair to its natural beauty as well as calming the scalp. Essential oils such as bay and orange flower absolute make this almost as good as a hair perfume as it is a hair moisturiser.

My opinion: The product certainly matches its description. The smell of the product (which is L.O.V.E.L.Y!) lasts between 3 and 7 days! Even after washes and swims I still found the product to be moisturising my hair and smelling gorgeous! It’s definitely one of those products which you don’t notice is in your hair (it doesn’t weigh it down, make your hair feel sticky, etc – which I have found all too common in other curly hair products). You notice it only in the softness of your hair and those occasional hair flicks in which you are presented with a waft of fragrance.

Price: The R&B moisturiser is – what some would say – pretty expensive. It comes in at £11.25 for a 100g pot and £19.95 for a 225g pot. HOWEVER, may I say that I used hardly any product each time (the formula seems concentrated and therefore doesn’t need much at one time) plus the fact it lasts in your hair so long I wouldn’t advise putting it in everyday – twice a week would seem pretty adequate. If you have the money, it’s definitely worth spending a bit of money on good hair care!

How I used the product: I used a small scoop of the product on my damp just washed hair. I smoothed it into my hair before flipping my hair upside down and tossing it round with my hands to evenly distribute the product, I used my normal curly hair products (to keep my curls lasting all day and not getting too frizzy) but felt I didn’t have to use anywhere near the same amount as normal. I used the product twice a week although also tried once a week to see the difference.

Overall opinion: The R&B moisturiser is a fab product for getting my hair back to feeling soft and fresh. I’m so happy that the lovely sales assistant recommended this to me! Although I haven’t repurchased yet (my tester pot has almost run out!) I am 100% planning to get this in the very very near future.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!
