Hey there fashion lovers,
I hope you’ve had an awesome weekend and for all those who went back to work or school today, I hope that the ‘Monday blues’ haven’t hit you too hard. Obviously, like every Monday I will be talking about my style icon of the week, but firstly I wanted to mention a thing or two.
No Friday blog post
I wanted to apologise for the lack of a blog post last Friday. If you are following my twitter account (@madfashionlover) you would have seen my struggle to write a blog post. To explain it all to you, basically, I had spent a massive chunk of my day trying to work out how to convert one of my videos onto Adobe Premiere. It was possibly one of the most frustrating activities ever- and to this day I still haven’t managed to do it, grrr! So by the time I got to writing my blog post I was extremely tired and fed up. What is normally a joy to do (writing my blog posts) became a very hard task. I had wordy sentences, vague points and tiny paragraphs – to sum it up, it wasn’t looking good. I didn’t end up posting a blog post because I wasn’t happy with my writing. I do (and will continue to) put my 100% into my blog posts but like everyone, sometimes it’s just not my day.
Anyways, let me get on to some more interesting topics and talk about my amazing style icon of the week, Amanda Seyfried. Amanda Seyfried is an American Actress, model and singer. She has played soooooo many characters over the years but my favourite has to be her role in Mamma Mia (I’m completely in love/obesessed with that film!). I just think she continually dresses well and stuns whether that’s on a red carpet or simply getting papped going shopping. I love this woman’s acting skills, beauty and of course fashion sense!
I love this dress. I think she’s also worn a very similar one to another red carpet event but I liked this one better because she looks mega confident in it. I think the dress is gorgeous – I’ve surprised myself because I normally don’t like all those frilly, lacy dresses- and I love the way she has added a pop of colour with the red lipstick. I always, always, always have some colour in my outfits (not just white/beige/black) and I think Amanda Seyfried plays it well with the choice of make-up.
Again, I really do think this outfit looks fab. She wears her statement red/orange lippy with a long black coat which looks very chic. I think by having her hair tied up, Amanda Seyfried allows the simple yet lovely outfit speak for itself.
Lastly is this gorgeous red suit from Prada. Amanda Seyfried wore it last Spring to a show at Paris Fashion Week. Obviously Miss Seyfried was trying to make a fashion statement and I think she certainly does. I love the powerful look she gives off yet the look still says feminine because of her long hair, beautiful make-up and the lovely bag that she teams it with. This is definitely a power suit, and I definitely like it.
Amanda Seyfried is this weeks Style Icon. She’s young, fun and enjoying fashion. She wears LOADS of classic pieces (which are totally worth buying) and adds colour for a playful twist. Keep your eyes on this beauty, she’s sure to be making a couple more fashion statements soon!
My style icon this week is Amanda Seyfried, but who is yours? Tweet me their name and a reason why using the hashtag #MyStyleIcon to @madfashionlover or drop a comment below! You never know… next week it could be them!
