Style Icon of the Week: Lianne La Havas

Hey there fashion lovers!
I hope you’ve all had a wonderful, relaxing weekend recovering from all of last week’s festivities! I have been busy preparing stuff for my blog to be shown to you guys in the next couple of weeks! I am going to be doing reviews of some products which I have been wanting to try for a while – and I thought I would share my thoughts and experiences of those products with you! I have also been filming some more video blogs (although I may have to re-shoot some which is rather annoying! Grrr). I’m looking forward to sharing all this with you in the coming weeks.

This week’s style icon is Lianne La Havas. My amazing best friend Amara introduced both me and Renae to this beautiful woman! Last March Amara got tickets for us all to go and see her playing a gig in London. Having not really listened to her stuff and knowing absolutely nothing about her I went in with an open mind. I think she sounds amazing and also has a very unique, quirky fashion sense. Take a look below at my favourite outfits of hers!

Lianne is truly beautiful and I really love how she keeps her make-up really simple. She is nearly always seen with her statement ‘cat eye’ eyeliner flick but besides that she stays pretty neutral. Lianne is often experimenting with her style and mixes current trends with retro clothes – often from the nineties.

Lianne is really, really beautiful (I just thought I should emphasise that!). At the moment I’m addicted to shirts so I’m loving her shirt which she’s wearing in the photo below. I haven’t quite worked out what the things on her shirt are though, I’m making a guess that they’re animals? I’m not sure. The bottom of the shirt is pretty unique and unusual; I certainly haven’t seen that cut before… I wonder if she personalised it or whether it’s bought like that.

Lastly is this stunning photo of Lianne. Okay, so I know I just said I was obsessed with shirts, but jumpers is also an obsession of mine. Before Christmas I was hooked on the idea of Christmas jumpers and my love for chunky jumpers has yet to have stopped. Her fluffy jumper here is GORGEOUS. Writing about jumpers reminds me of the lovely mint green chunky cable knit jumper from Topshop. I saw it in there today and completely fell in love with it, however unfortunately I had to leave it in the shop and say my goodbyes *sobs*. ANYWAYS… back to Lianne – I love the jumper but I also think her make-up and hair is B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L.

So this week my style icon of the week is Lianne La Havas. She’s one stunning and stylish chick who never fails to turn an outfit into her own ‘creation’. Lianne’s style (and hair) reminds me so much of Amara. I’m in love with the unique quirkiness!

My style icon this week is Lianne La Havas, but who is yours? Tweet me their name and a reason why using the hashtag #MyStyleIcon to @madfashionlover or drop a comment below! You never know… next week it could be them!
