Hey there fashion lovers!
I hope you’ve all had a good weekend! Last Friday I was unable to make a blog post because I was out celebrating my birthday – so I’m going to try and make up for it this week! I’ll be doing a post about fancy dress costumes again later this week (or next week) and I’ll be posting a couple of pictures from the party itself. Also, I’m soon to finish my ‘photo a day’ for October and I’ll also be posting a montage of those photos in a special blog post over the next couple of weeks. Anyways back to the actual point of this post! This week my style icon is Lorde. Lorde (her real name is Ella Maria Yani Yelich-O’Connor) is a singer/songwriter from New Zealand. At only 16 years old Lorde has already bagged a Number 1 single ‘Royals’ on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the first New Zealand solo artist to have a number 1 song in the US. Take a look below at Lorde and her style.
Here Lorde looks absolutely beautiful. I love the statement necklaces she’s wearing, which always make an outfit look that little bit better. Her make-up is also top notch – the eyeliner flick is perfect (I wish I could do it well as that!) and I also think the deep red lipstick suits her well.
Okay so I think this photo is pretty awesome. I don’t really know why, she just looks ‘perfect’. I love the hair, of course, and with the make-up to a minimum her true beauty really stands out. The two slit dress which Lorde is wearing is still remarkably popular on the high street, just make sure you have the legs to wear it! The boots and bracelets/bangles only add to this simple yet beautiful outfit – love, love, love.
So Lorde is my style icon for this week. She’s young and still experimenting with the world of fashion and I love it. She’s the youngest of the style icons I have featured so far and I hope I’ve proved that whatever age, you can always take style advice, tips and inspiration.
My style icon this week is Lorde, but who is yours? Tweet me their name and a reason why using the hashtag #MyStyleIcon to @madfashionlover or drop a comment below! You never know… next week it could be them!
